This original map of Larius Lacus (Lake Como), dated 1600, by Abraham Ortelius (1527 – 1598) is based on the cartography of Paulus Jovius. This map is from the pocket edition of Abraham Ortelius’ Theatrum. There is a strapwork title cartouche in the upper right corner and borders with latitude and longitude shown. This map is in good condition and the framing is done to conservation standards with a museum mat and carved gold frame.
